Become a Tutor
Tutoring is a very rewarding career opportunity as you will be directly impacting children’s future and enabling them to have a solid foundation for academic success. You will be at the heart of the city’s community providing supplementary education services that complement the national curriculum and enable students to develop and stretch their abilities at their own pace.
Bristol Tutors arranges private tuition and in-school programmes throughout the Bristol area and we are always looking for quality tutors in all subject areas with a passion for education and a dedication to helping students to fulfil their academic potential. The role offers flexible working hours to fit around your schedule and at a competitive pay rate. You will be set up as self-employed so please make sure any VISA’s allow this type of employment.
We are currently looking to connect with tutors in all subject areas to tutor at all academic levels. We also wish to connect with additional tutors who have experience working with students who have additional learning needs such as dyslexia or ASD.
Please note we are a UK-based company and are only looking to register tutors who reside in Bristol, UK for in-person tuition or UK-based for online learning.
To start your application, please upload your CV to Tutorcruncher, our tutor management system using the link below (note: Bristol Tutors are part of the Greenhouse Learning group)
Please note that all tutors will need to provide a valid enhanced DBS certificate that is registered to the Update service before being able to tutor. If you do not have one, Bristol Tutors can assist successful applicants in obtaining one as part of the registration process. If you have lived abroad in the last 5 years you will also need an overseas DBS check too. We refer tutors to APCS to do this – their current charge for an enhanced DBS check is £50 inc VAT and it is possible to make this portable for use with other tutoring or teaching positions. You can therefore still apply if you do not currently have one but must be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS and register for the update service before registration can be completed for child safeguarding purposes.
